![]() When you first discover it, you almost won’t want to tell anyone about Salsa a la Mexican Grill. Why? It is delecious, for one, and relatively cheap -- especially considering its location between Eat Street and downtown. But most important is its authentic Mexican food. The chile Rolleno is real. The pork carnitas are both tender and spicy. And the romaine lettuce salad with orange sections and slim pieces of true jicama on the menu. The most popular items are typical Mexican Fare like burritos and enchiladas. But this is the kind of place to try something you can’t get at one of the chains. Choose “mixiotes de pollo” with its banana leaves and strips of cactus over something ordinary like the southwestern Caesar salad. End the mean with a margarita, which is just as genuine as the rest of this little gem’s offerings. -- Sarah Tieck |
